Foodland are indeed “The Mighty South Aussies”.So how does shopping at Foodland support our community?Foodland retailers have been supporting South Aussie sporting and community clubs, charities and schools for 50 years. Our retailers donate to over 200 sporting clubs, 100 schools and kindergartens and over 250 other charities and community groups every year.We proudly support Minda and Little Heroes Foundation, both which make our communities a happier place. What’s it like working at Foodland?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees consistently appreciate their colleagues and co-workers at Foodland, noting that they are supportive, caring, and make shifts enjoyable. The role provides valuable opportunities to develop communication and social skills through regular customer interactions. Employees also note that the pay is competitive for the retail sector, and there is flexibility with shifts, including opportunities to cover additional hours and change departments as needed.

However, there are some potential challenges to consider. Management approaches can vary across different stores, with some employees noting inconsistencies in communication and support. The rostering system could benefit from modernisation, as employees have mentioned difficulties with booking time off and outdated manual processes. Some roles may experience challenges with work-life balance, particularly with split days off and high workload expectations in certain departments. Additionally, opportunities for career advancement and contract availability can be limited at some locations, and initial training could be more comprehensive to support new employees during onboarding.

Soul destroying, the entire experience has made me abandon a 15 year career and pursue something completely different. If you value your mental health DO NOT WORK THERE.
The good thingsDepartment Manager was amazing. Products were good. Decent flexibility.
The challengesRostering you get split days off, toxic environment, you only matter if you're in the purple circle, you get run into the ground and they'll still ask for more. Theres 0 work life balance. The bakery production is 100x more than any bakery I've ever worked in. The bakers don't have their breaks because theres just too much work to do. If you're fast and finish your own work you get to do everyone else's aswell. You dont get any incentives for working there not even 5% off your shop like other supermarkets. The place is old and tired, the mentality of upper managers is if its working don't change it, hence why the place is run like its 1980. There is so much potential but its just being wasted. They don’t want to do well, they just want consistently average.
