The challengesManagement of CSSD in my experience were awful. They were very unprofessional and lacked leadership skills. They were inconsistent with their communication, leading to confusion and unnecessary hardship . Conflict was prominent in the workplace due to again, poor leadership skills from management. I was a new employee and knew the field, and I felt I was set up to fail.

The good thingsNursing team on the floor
The challengesNurses are undermined and treated just like numbers. No respect from the upper management and then it’s carried down by the middle managers as they have minimal to no autonomy. Upper management controls everything as it’s the culture of this hospital.
CEO left but director is still the same. Very toxic work environment. They want you to do as you are told. They forget they are also healthcare employees and don’t own the hospital. Staff and patient safety if the last thing they are worried about. It’s all about the money. Hopefully it will change with new CEO onboard not that it bothers me anymore.
