What’s it like working at Spinal Life Australia?

    AI summary of recent reviews

Employees at Spinal Life Australia consistently highlight the rewarding nature of working with amazing clients and alongside supportive colleagues. The organisation offers flexible working arrangements with opportunities to pick up additional shifts, and some employees appreciate the available training resources both online and in-person.

However, there are some areas for improvement, including the need for enhanced management support and better communication between support workers and office staff. The nature of work, with short shifts spread across long days, can present work-life balance challenges, and some employees face difficulties in securing consistent hours, particularly in certain geographical areas.

Has been poor — barely any shifts for new workers, slow CSO communication, and management more focused on profit than supporting staff or clients.
The good thingsTraining before starting with nurses and key workers.
The challengesCurrently employed but wouldn’t recommend. New workers get barely any shifts, with most given to long-term staff. Hardly any buddy shifts to build experience. My CSO rarely responds within the promised 24 hours — sometimes days later. Feels like the company cares more about profit than clients or staff, and management is quick to blame workers when issues arise.
People and Culture TeamThank you for your feedback – we’re sorry this has been your experience, as it’s important to us that you feel supported and respected. Please reach out to HR via [email protected] or 07 3435 3294 for a confidential conversation.

    Toxic and horrible.
The good thingsNothing but people outside finance seem good.
The challengesFinancial controller (Team leader) is unprofessional and lacks of leadership. From day one, the most frequent thing I was told by the person is "I don't want to train you" and "You know nothing". I wasn't even given a list of tasks until HR got involved. Demeaning and putting down team members constantly is normal in this area. I noticed the staff turnover in this team is very high and I know why now.
