What’s it like working at TGI Fridays?

    AI summary of recent reviews

The standout positive aspect of working at TGI Fridays is the strong team environment, with employees consistently praising their co-workers for being supportive, friendly, and creating a family-like atmosphere. The collaborative culture between front and back of house staff is particularly noted for fostering a positive work environment.

Good friendly co workers, but company cares too much about profit then treating you well
    The good thingsCo-workers were great,
The challengesManagement, pay, hours were inconsistant, limited training, they do heaps of unpaid "trial shifts" however barely anyone gets the job.

Your enjoyment in working at TGI fridays will heavily depend on the venue, and you will hate the pay
The good thingsMy co-workers are the best, we constantly joke, help eachother, teamwork nine times out of ten is second to none. Management can be good.
The challengesCorporate doesn't really care, they tell you things and then don't follow through. ***THIS COMPANY ONLY CARES ABOUT THEIR PROFIT***, even if it means that your hours are cut, benifits are reduced, work load increases, etc. Although managers can be good, at often times they're unreliable, and sometimes just flat out rude. The company has had a bad enterprise agreement with horrible pay for years, and they're only now proposing that we get rid of it and go on the award, where they have (discreetly) mentioned that they will be under-paying us. They will put on a facade that they 'recognise hard work', and have 'great opportunities for progression'. Do not fall for it. Their version of recognising hard work comes in the form of cheap pins and a pat on the back every once in a while while you're left to work your guts out for a weekly check that doesn't pay the bills.

Don't work at Chadstone TGI Fridays! There's a reason for the high staff turnover and consistent recruitment (it's understaffing and dreadful treatment).
The good thingsThe team are lovely for the most part.
The challengesI have been regularly forced to work for significantly longer hours than are written in my part time contract (told it was a preference and not an agreement when this was raised) and have been brought to management for a meeting to discuss my less than enthusiastic response (mind, I still agreed to it most the time) to the expectation of overtime- a 9pm finish according to rostering is, in fact, a 10.30-11 finish according to management and some supervisors. The Chadstone location is horrifically understaffed, and yet, upon being called for a meeting by a supervisor, I was told I was replaceable and threatened with a contracted minimum 6 hours a week across 3 two-hour long shifts. Also, upper management is honestly insane and very far removed with frequent and nonsensical changes occurring frequently. Probably wouldn't recommend working here. Conditions are worse than casual work (randomly allocated hours according to the needs of the business) and for less pay.
