A great course with real world application. The curriculum covered emerging areas in the evolving industry of Communication. I’m my opinion, however, some faculty were not qualified to be teaching. While they had embellished careers in the field, their ability to teach was not adequate.

B/ of communication is a course that gives you insight into a range of careers. Perhaps the challenge with this course is trying to find employment after graduation. You gain a range of skills in journalism, marketing, film and TV, PR etc., however don’t really graduate with a specialisation, making it difficult to apply for work in a specific field when you are competing with student that may have done a B/ in journalism for example. Studying at Bond was great because you have smaller lectures and have greater access to teaching support. They also have fantastic facilities and up to date technology.

The content was extensive and had a nice balance of theory and practical. The faculty gave lots of feedback and wanted to see you excel in your desired profession. Being taught by people currently in the industry was extremely benefitial.

Getting a masters degree in journalism was the best decision I made to begin my career. It’s an invaluable qualification that launches you into an industry where you need to continue learning to survive. It taught me how to continue studying even when working to always move forward.

I had significant industry experience to draw on. Lecturers & subject content were relevant and on point. Choice of subjects was excellent as was availability of support as required. The university itself has fabulous on campus facilities & courses add value to post grad students marketability.

A great experience, especially considering I'm a local and I got into the course on a scholarship. Most of the classes were amazing, but a handful left a number of things to be desired. At the end of the day you are paying for the close relationship with your lecturers and cohort, but I did feel the university wasn't holding the course in the same high regard as something like Law. It was kinda obvious when funding wasn't going to the arts, and I feel that if a small realignment were to occur it would be the best film course in Australia.

Bond is an excellent institute that not only teaches you the industry equipment but also the fundamental elements of film and television and what is required when you get out in the industry.

Studying a Bachelor of Journalism at Bond University was both a positive & negative experience. The course content at the time was relevant however given Journalism is now almost completely digital, the learned skill set is somewhat redundant. The class size is good & allows opportunity for time spent one on one with students however the professors at the time were teaching based upon their experiences twenty or thirty years earlier. The opportunities I received to work in Journalism were ones I sought on my own. The head of Journalism was a key player in my decision not to pursue a career in media after I graduated. Bond offers many extra curricular activities and an active social life whilst studying. Studying with international students is an advantage. In hindsight I would have followed a different path.
