I did a double degree with media and information as well. The majority of the tutors were very knowledgeable. A number of them had worked in the industry. Some of the content seemed to be irrelevant to course depending on what the major was. It seemed more suited to a journalism stream than a film/theatre stream. The resources for the theatre students were continuously cut over the 4.5 years I was there, it was very disheartening. The film resources however were to a good standard. I would recommend someone go to TAFE and seek an internship for the entertainment industry rather than doing this course.
