I very much enjoyed and found the Science unit very useful, however this is the only positive remark I can provide. I suffered terrible anxiety prior to beginning this course and hoped by studying, I may find my light at the end of the tunnel. I could not see the relevance between the assignments given in other subjects and the skills needed to manage a classroom.

This course felt like a ‘crash course’ in teaching. I did not feel very confident when heading into teaching and perhaps could have been more equipped by being provided with a more ongoing relationship with a mentor or having more regular time built into the degree where one observed all aspects of teaching. It would be helpful to have teachers share their experience from schools - things they have found hard, things they have learned, strategies in dealing with difficulties, what support is available tor teachers beyond graduation in both teaching terms and in the professional side of things (unions fair work agreements etc) It would have been great to be more equipped with organizational tools too. I found that I wasn’t familiar enough with simple things like organizing criteria for marking that relate to curriculum and content, or proformas for writing unit plans. Also how to keep records of students, have had to work out my own strategies, some of which have not been very effective. Whilst it was great being able to get going with a career in teaching very quickly, I felt like the online content took so long to go through as it took longer to read and type out responses so it was difficult to engage with the material as much and in a deeper way. Whilst yes it did feel like a crash course in teaching, one can never be fully equipped for the demands of the classroom and the things that one is faced with each day. I did love this course despite the things I have mentioned. And I did love that I could do it in a year. I have found it a challenge to navigate was great being able to do a year on top of my bachelor degree and being able to teach. It gave me all the basic skills necessary to be able to be a teacher.

The course assisted me to gain quality level of contemporary ecec issues and knowledge. It helped me to broaden my pedagogical perspectives and practices. Excellent unit resources were provided throughout UNE professionals’ Moodle teaching/ learning (their course materials). Online learning was handy for me but somehow it was hard some stages in communicating with teachers.

The course was great and the online teaching was very in depth. The student teacher forums were a great way to learn as we’re the online webinars. The lecturers were very supportive and always answered emails in a timely fashion. I’m proud to have graduated from such a highly regarded university such as University of New England

A lot of practical hours and lots of theory. Really good subject content and plenty of time to research for additional subjects.

Overall I thought my studying experience was great. If I had a problem it was solved ver quickly. The staff were very helpful with the unit and always willing to assist with extra help or extension on assignments (Sometimes it was hard to submit assignments and completing normal everyday life, sometimes a weeks extension was needed to catch up).

I feel the course was very flexible. Working full time and study with 3 children sounds unbearable but UNE was great. As I reached the end of the course it felt like I’d accomplished so much. The whole thing was a great experience. Thinking of doing another course.
