Why study this course

This program is for students who are inspired by great engineering achievements. As part of the core first year, students will develop a strong foundation in basic science and engineering principles, practice and management. Students will study over a range of engineering areas, to help them decide where their engineering passion lies. Students will learn about current industry practices from passionate academics who are leaders in their fields. The degree has a strong practical focus and from students' first year, provides them with the opportunity to develop work-ready skills as teaching focuses on 'learning by doing'. From second year students will study the preferred major and focus more on the selected area of interest. Griffith maintain strong links with industry ensuring their degrees are relevant and students benefit from leading guest lecturers and participation in real engineering projects. In the final year students will take these skills and work with Industry partners here or overseas to undertake a semester long project through the capstone Industry Affiliates Program. Students will graduate as a well-grounded, qualified professional with advanced engineering knowledge and be prepared to take advantage of a range of opportunities in Australia and overseas.x

The course provides student various field of engineering. I found that I choose different path for my engineering career either building, road or structural engineer.

Overall the experience was pleasant and rewarding. At times it was difficult to align subjects, however in the end it worked out okay.

i found the course to be quite enjoyable, using first principles to tackle many engineering problems. However coming into he industry it is clear to me that many engineering concepts are not explained well. Also more practical and relevant teachings would be good.
