How to become a Maintenance Officer
You can work as a Maintenance Officer without qualifications. A relevant Vocational Education and Training (VET) certification will provide you with useful skills and knowledge but is not considered essential. Some employers require candidates to undergo a Police check.
- 1.Build your practical skills in a hands–on workplace such as a construction site in an assistant position.
- 2.Consider completing a VET qualification such as the Certificate II in Construction (CPC20112) through a registered training organisation (RTO) or TAFE. While a course of study may be beneficial, developing practical experience will likely be more critical to this role.
- 3.Hold a current Driver’s Licence.
- 4.Undergo Police checks where necessary.
