Employees at HealthShare NSW appreciate their friendly and supportive colleagues who make the workplace enjoyable. The work/life balance is good, with flexibility in working hours and hybrid working options for corporate positions. Many employees highlight the positive culture, with a focus on autonomy, trust, diversity and inclusion. Several reviewers note that management and supervisors are approachable, helpful and genuinely care about employees.

However, there are some potential challenges, such as inconsistent management approaches, with certain managers being less experienced in dealing with complex employee needs. A few reviewers mentioned that suggestions for improvement may not always be well received, and that making changes can be challenging. As with many government agencies, bureaucratic processes can slow down progress and make it challenging to meet timelines. Some employees have indicated that staffing levels can be an issue, leading to increased workload pressures, and several reviewers noted that rotating rosters and late working hours can be challenging to manage.

    Betrayed by management.
The good thingsWorking with others committed to high quality patient care.
The challengesLike many government health departments, if you do as you’re told and don’t question processes, you don’t become a target. Being an Ex-ambulance officer and holding a Masters degree in WHS, I dared attempt to make suggestions to improve both worker safety and patient cate. I believe this was openly praised; but covertly interpreted as a threat to my immediate position. Big mistake. If you wish to be a PTO with HealthShare NSW, you need to be quiet, do your job and don’t question anything or make suggestions to improve their systems.
