    Fun whilst staying concentrated and keeping a good work ethic
    The good thingsGetting to know lots of people and how to stay concentrated in a very busy environment especially on weekends as well as learning a whole bunch of different roles.
    The challengesSpeed, it takes a lot of time to work very fast for a constant amount time especially without getting distracted but once you've reached that stage of it becoming easier it stays that way.

    The challengesGetting used to the holiday rushes, especially the Christmas rush defintley took getting used to at first, but after several years it's gotten a lot easier. I recently worked 10 hours on Christmas Eve 2025, and it went by so fast and felt a lot easier than previous years.

    The good thingsIf you are a good worker you are guaranteed work. Once you are on a contract you can work homelife around your roster. Great camaraderie with your staff mates.
    The challengesIf you wish to advance your career, you have to make it known to your upline. Be prepared to move stores to further your career. Not enough positions to allow career advancements.

    The challengesAbsolutely a nightmare to work at. Nothing good. They don't care about you. Doesn't matter how hard I worked i would still be treated bottom level. Casual rate was good money but it was always tough. I could never transfer cause i would always get blocked. It felt like jail. Only way to leave is to quit. Glad I left and never again.

    The challengesHours cut week in and out, mangers are disconnected from reality. Most of them have known nothing but woolworths their whole life with no real life experience outside of there. Hard to converse with these characters.

    What a ridiculous workplace
    The good thingsThe pay rate.........
    The challengesManagement. The Management is terrible. They will do everything to keep you at the bottom of an entry level role even if you have the smarts to be a manager. There's obvious nepotism and favourtism at Woolworths with which they can get away with. They celebrate the cash register team with gift cards against Woolies policy as their most precious and and even if you believe in traditional team management and leadership, and believe in bringing business back into this company, they will ignore you. Even though numbers tend to matter for outcomes they will ignore your ideas and the current board is bound to run this company down until it's a mess not worth saving anymore. They are going to hide behind a mental health cloud in not letting you work until you can't believe them anymore.
