What's it like to be a Client Services Manager?
Client Services Managers act as a liaison between a business and its customers. Many Client Services Managers work in retail, distribution, healthcare, insurance or financial planning businesses to help ensure clients receive exceptional service while the business’s sales goals are achieved.
Tasks and duties
- Developing and implementing client service strategies that will increase sales while providing a positive experience for all customers.
- Overseeing the activities of staff to ensure the needs of customers are met and their problems resolved.
- Contacting clients regularly to identify their needs, and to ensure they are satisfied with the received product/service.
- Developing policies and procedures for the resolution of client complaints and problems.
- Overseeing the hiring and training of staff for the department.
- Supervising and directing the activities of employees to ensure they comply with acceptable standards and achieve set objectives.
- Carrying out product/service assessments and liaising with the production, marketing and sales team to ensure they meet the specifications set by clients.
- Preparing and managing budgets in order to achieve set targets and objectives.
How to become a Client Services Manager
There are no mandatory qualifications to become a Client Services Manager. A qualification in Business Management, Commerce or Accounting may be advantageous. Proven experience in a leadership role is also recommended.
- 1.Consider completing a bachelor degree in Business Management, Commerce, Accounting or a related field.
- 2.Gain at least five years’ work experience in a customer-facing role.
- 3.Gain experience in a leadership role.
