Poor Management, High Staff Turnover, No Support for StaffThe good thingsThe thing I enjoyed most was getting to build relationships with the clients. Supporting them day to day, helping them reach their goals. I felt good when I got to have conversations with the clients and make their days more fulfilling.
The pay was good. Decent enough hours. Active night shifts were rough though.
The challengesManagement was condescending and disrespectful toward staff. I often felt like we weren't being supported properly. No debriefing. Completely unapproachable. If an incident occurred nobody followed up with you or checked in with you.
High staff turnover which led to inconsistent care for the clients. Inductions every six weeks so despite being permanent you weren't guaranteed anything.
One of my co-workers was being disrespectful towards me and I reported it. I asked if I could be put with someone else. Management said no. Basically told me to deal with it. I did. Which led to a breakdown in communication between us. Made every single shift I had with them miserable.
Co-workers can also report on one another if any mistakes are made. Which led to a toxic workplace culture.
I was unwell for a period of time during my employment. No help or support from the company. If you call in sick you have to find your own replacement.
Really not a good place to work at all. 2/10
