What’s it like working at Australian Sports Commission?

    AI summary of recent reviews

The Australian Sports Commission offers several attractive benefits including free gym membership, parking, and excellent campus facilities. Employees particularly value the work-life balance and flexible working arrangements. The organisation is noted for its supportive team environment, where staff work alongside like-minded colleagues in the dynamic sports industry.

However, employees note some operational challenges, including a complex management structure with bureaucratic decision-making processes. There are also concerns about limited career progression opportunities within the organisation, and the contract-based nature of employment can create uncertainty around long-term job security and financial planning.

    Poor management culture.
The good thingsNot sure - despite being told I had the job I never got to start actually working.
The challengesApplication process for the role was acceptable however are interviews they never informed any of the applicants of the status of their applications post interview. Myself and at least one other person were told we had the job however bureaucracy meant we were strung along for more than 12 months.

Overall, this job has proven to be quite challenging, particularly during the closing shift. Most problems tend to arise late at night when support is limited, leaving you to handle issues on your own. The facility itself is aging, and as a result, the room doors frequently malfunction, requiring constant attention and repairs. Each night, it's a race against time to address these persistent issues, often with no assistance, making the closing shift not only stressful but also frustratingly chaotic. The double standards from direct management was my decision to leave.
The good thingsThe occasional free meal
The challengesDouble standards from the managers.
