    Very serious corporate culture issues
    The good thingsThere are some passionate individuals in the organisation, and it is nice to work so closely with the community you serve.
    The challengesThe management team is unwilling to to commit to any real change. There are a number of toxic, unqualified people who unfortunately hold a lot of power in the engineering section. Passionate and dedicated staff quickly become frustrated and burnt out with the constant infighting and big noting that takes place. Those that stay are generally in very low moral and feel they have no option to leave. There is a big problem with staff retention which exacerbates the situation. Several business management consultants were brought in to help with lean improvement and left the situation in frustration, not with the workers but with management.

    This is one of the most rewarding jobs I have ever undertaken and it makes you feel good.
    The good thingsThe best thing about the job is helping the visitors that come into the tourist information centre looking for things to do in and around the area. I love showing off my town.
    The challengesThe challenges in this job are finding the right things to do and see for the different individuals that come in and, also when you get a big group in.
