Warehouse Storeperson
Recently applied to a job with Amazon for an Order Picker role, nightshirt, and had a phone interview with Randstad agency. Line of questions started well: do have licence - yes, car- yes...
Then she asked for my weight and height... Unfortunately, I answered honestly but it didn't sit well with me. I had skills and experience etc. My BMI score would have worked against me even though I am a fit swimmer and athletic.
Later that day I received an email that I didn't get the job.

Hey Tai. Welcome to the community! Thanks for sharing your concerns with the group. With this kind of thing, it always helps if employers can share the reason they are asking - this gives some peace of mind.
It could be something like the height and weight requirements for certain equipment that staff use, which is that case its relevant to the role. We should point out though, thats it's unlawful to use the information to unfairly discriminate. 🙏
