I arrived in Australia about two months ago on a 482 visa, which is valid for two years. I have applied for several jobs but haven’t received any positive responses yet. Could this be because many employers prefer candidates who hold permanent residency?

G'Day! I'm looking to move from Germany to Australia in September and I'm quite anxious about not being able to find a job until then (or rather find job opportunities, getting a job before being in Australia is not really possible I think) I've already made contact with a few recruiters, one of whom I've already had an initial Teams call with. I'm wondering if anyone here can give me any advice on stuff I could do to ease my mind and raise my chances of eventually finding work. Cheers!

I have been applying to jobs related to Biotech/ Life sciences field since last year. I have a PhD in a similar field and have international experience, but still I feel I am not good enough for the Australian job market. I am just clueless as to what are these recruiters looking for even if I fulfill 80-90 % of the selection criteria. No one will hire me even for entry level jobs.
