I arrived in Australia about two months ago on a 482 visa, which is valid for two years. I have applied for several jobs but haven’t received any positive responses yet. Could this be because many employers prefer candidates who hold permanent residency?

Hi, I’m an international graduate with a Master of IT from Deakin, on a 485 visa with full work rights. I hold ISTQB and have 3 years’ QA experience in a multinational SaaS company in Nepal. I’ve applied for many QA roles but haven’t been shortlisted, except once where I reached offer stage and declined due to pay structure deviation and purely manual mobile work. Currently working in a fish & chips shop while trying to break into tech. Any advice appreciated.
