I am looking for a new job currently and wondering how much notice people usually give when they leave their job? I am the only receptionist at a mediclinic and I don't want to 'leave them in the lurch' but one months notice seems too long? It's a small practice so there isn't any policy or anything that I know of. Won't giving a month notice hurt my chances of getting a job?

Tricky situation. I just started a new job two weeks ago and have been invited for an interview at another job I applied for. IF I'm offered the new job, I want to take it. My question is, would I still have to give two weeks notice if I'm still onboarding or can I just call and let them know?

Question about resigning - do you write your resignation in the body of the email or as an attached letter? Every resignation letter template I see online is formatted like a proper letter - is this old fashioned or are letters still the done thing? What's better from an HR perspective?

If you can, let them know in person and hand in or email your official letter right away. I’m so tired. Been looking for work for over a year, applying for hundreds of jobs online and in person. Less than 20 responses, less than 10 interviews, only two short job stints. I’m 21, at uni, had a good ATAR, experience across warehousing, retail, hospitality, cleaning, customer service, industrial work, forklift driving, and team leadership. I tailor applications and have full availability, nothing works. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. Any advice?
