A childhood accident left me with a stutter, impairing my ability to speak fluently. This has alwsys made job interviews hell and very difficult. Despite advice to declare my disability for accommodations, it hasn't helped. Accommodations are often inadequate, interviewers seem to ignore my stutter, and the feedback criticises me for being "not detailed or coherent" (what a surprise). The stutter always negates my 3 degrees and international experience in interviews. Need advice navigating this

I was interviewed 3 weeks ago and the HR told me they would get back to me within a week. However I followed up last Friday and they said they haven’t finalised the process. Meanwhile the job advertised has expired on seek. The interview went very well and I was even taken on a tour to their production plant. Should I be worried that it’s taking more time than they originally mentioned?

I’m finding job searching is becoming very unprofessional. In the last 6 months I’ve had interviews where companies have ghosted me without even a follow-up. I even had one with the connection dropped halfway through and that was it, never heard again. I’m sure if one of their workers pulled a day off without telling anybody they wouldn’t like it. I’m not sure if it’s a culture of the Western world but if you’re looking for work they see it as they have the power. Time wasters

recruitment agencies on seek: As a software engineer, I get frequent calls from recruitment agencies weekly . To save time, I ask the following questions. If the recruiter answers yes to any, I politely end the call: 1. Does the company you’re representing already have an HR team? 2. Has the company itself already advertised this role on Seek? 3. Does the job offer has a high salary? they simply repost already advertised job to make quick money.
