I’ve just landed my first job – a standard mon-fri office deal – and I have a question about clothes. I basically need to buy work outfits from scratch. The dress code at my workplace is "smart casual", so not suit pants or ties, thankfully. Can I get some advice on what staples I can buy to rotate through the week so that I don’t wear the same thing every day? I’m male btw. Two pairs of chinos plus three shirts? I only have $400 to spend on this before my first pay.

Question about phone call anxiety: how do I sound more confident when I am dying inside? I'm a school leaver so I don't have much work experience and that's affecting my confidence, but mostly I just panic when I have to talk to an interviewer on the phone. I know it sounds stupid, but I hate my voice and how I sound. How do I create a more confident 'phone persona'? I think it's killing my chances at getting a job.

Looking for some advice on how to break into the counselling profession. I completed a Master of Counselling last year, have membership with the Australian Counselling Association, and have been doing an excessive amount of CPD. I’m finding that all roles require at least 2 years of experience in a counselling role, but how does one achieve this? It doesn’t seem as if you can work up from a lower level role, as it wouldn’t be considered client focused. Would love some advice!

hi all, i am a Motivated 15-year-old seeking an electrical apprenticeship in residential construction. although i currently have no formal experience, I hold a valid White Card and am eager to learn skills while contributing to new home builds. I’m hardworking, have an advanced ability in maths, works well under pressure, strong at problem-solving and communication. Currently an A–B SACE student with a strong work ethic and a genuine interest in becoming a qualified electrician.

For anybody who's considering going into bus driving, when first I was called about an interview they asked if I had something called a Driver Authority Certificate. Which isn't a problem until you consider it has to be signed off by your doctor, I have to wait a fortnight to see mine. I had an interview today, now I have to wait. If you want to drive buses, start your DA now.
