What do I even want to do?? I love my job, I’ve spent many years doing it, but I’m still constantly wondering if there’s a different job out there. Discovering the job is the hard part. My skills are definitely transferable, but not job-specific for a big change. Taking cool job recommendations/ aspirations, from a Childcare educator.

Not sure if this is the right place to post as I've never really had a 'career'? Ive hopped from temp job to casual job and part time since leaving school. Had kids so spent time raising them and now they're in school, Im 35 and feel like I want to do something more serious but where do I start? I feel old and behind the 8 ball. Aside from applying for entry level jobs what else can I do? Is it worth getting a certificate or training at my age?

I’ve been in the inventory, warehousing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, freight etc sector for 25 years in different industries and workplaces, working at all levels from entry to management and well, I’m just not enjoying it anymore. I would like to maybe try retail with face to face customer service but I can’t even get an interview due to zero experience? Anyone else found their job is just not fulfilling or simply “not doing it for you” anymore?

I’ve been an office worker my entire life (now in my late 40s) and I’m over it, really just unmotivated to sit at a desk for 8 hours a day, plus I don’t really get any sense of purpose from my job. I want a radical change and to study environmental science and work outdoors/do something that benefits the environment. Does anyone have any advice or personal stories of making this kind of career jump at this age? Were you successful? Any regrets? I need hope...

Hi everyone, I've been a qualified chef for 23 years, but lately I've been feeling completely burnt out and have lost the passion I once had for cooking. At 38, the idea of starting over in a new career feels pretty overwhelming—especially with financial responsibilities like a mortgage. I'm considering a mature-age apprenticeship to make a career change, but I'm concerned about the income side of things. Are mature-age apprenticeships generally low-paying. Thx

Hello all, I hope all of you are doing well. I have been having trouble in getting OOSH Carer position since none of my applications is successful yet. As an international Master of Teaching student, I really want the work experience since it will aid me to be more confident and familiar with working around Australian children, which will aid me tremendously with school placement. I have been successful with my Hospitality jobs, but I want a wind of change in my career journey. Any tips guys?

Hi I'm Debbie and my career is in the Aged Care field. I have worked in both the Facility and also the Community. I'm currently working in the Aged Care Community doing PC, Some Social Support and lots and lots of DA. I'm finding it really tough to stay with my current job due to all the DA's the company gives you. I feel really burnt out but I honestly don't know what else I can do as they all ask for experience and my only experience is in Aged Care as a Support Worker. Please Help!
