Purchasing and Inventory
I’ve been in the inventory, warehousing, procurement, supply chain, logistics, freight etc sector for 25 years in different industries and workplaces, working at all levels from entry to management and well, I’m just not enjoying it anymore. I would like to maybe try retail with face to face customer service but I can’t even get an interview due to zero experience? Anyone else found their job is just not fulfilling or simply “not doing it for you” anymore?

Ysuch a weird feeling when the work you’ve done for years just doesn’t feel right anymore. It’s tough when you want a change but can’t get a foot in the door without direct experience. Have you tried leaning on your transferable skills when applying? u got heaps that retail values.... people management, organisation, problem-solving, customer coordination, all of that.

Sales Assistant
I am in the same leaking boat, being in my mid 50's.
Getting out of warehousing is difficult but I got a position in retailing.
Brace yourself!
The pay and hours suck!
Before you know it you are looking back at what you know and can depend upon, but having to start from the bottom again or being pushed into unfamiliar roles that you do not want.
Good luck..

Volunteer Sales Assistant
My background is in Production, Manufacturing and Warehouse but I'm older now and don't want such physically demanding jobs. Last year I started volunteering at a charity op shop, gaining experience in customer service and retail. I think volunteering can be a great way to change career path, plus it shows you're keen to work and community-minded. It can also be a great way to network and put out feelers for potential opportunities. I'm hoping to eventually get a paid job within the company.

Airline Clerk (airport check in)
I too have spent the last 25 years as a Production planner in manufacturing, and alongside the planning inventory management and logistics and transport.
Last year I was made redundant as my employer of 19 years shut its doors.
I still have not found a job yet in what I am very well experienced in. Doordash delivery driving at the moment to fill a gap and a void.
I know streets I never knew before.
If I could go back to work at my 19 year job I would, but sadly cant.

Yeah, definitely had moments where I just want to throw it all in. Career change is hard, but if you keep at it, you'll get something. It sounds like you'd be a great fit actually!
