Not sure if this is the right place to post as I've never really had a 'career'? Ive hopped from temp job to casual job and part time since leaving school. Had kids so spent time raising them and now they're in school, Im 35 and feel like I want to do something more serious but where do I start? I feel old and behind the 8 ball. Aside from applying for entry level jobs what else can I do? Is it worth getting a certificate or training at my age?

I'd say it's pretty common these days for people to take longer to decide on where they want to go. And 35's a long way from old....
In terms of where to start, it can be worth sitting down and thinking about the stuff you've enjoyed/are good at doing and looking for jobs where those things are needed. Once you know what it is you want, the steps to get there should be a little clearer.

Many people have jobs in this world, but only a few have careers. Just find what you truly enjoy, get more training and certifications in it, and start somewhere. I am switching from being a forklift operator to becoming an English teacher, and if they don’t hire me here, I don’t care—there are plenty of positions available in Southeast Asia.

Never too late to start. I'd say almost everyone I know has done a career change around the same age. Sometimes the job you start with just does not fit life anymore, there are employers out there who understand this. ☺️

West Coast has this one right for sure. There's never really a bad time to try something new. And people change into new roles in their 30s, 40s, 50s and later.
We've got an article here with some tips and advice to help out. It starts a little later than 30s though, so you're already ahead of the curve. 😉
