Let’s be honest, finding work as a deaf person is a joke sometimes.
I’m upfront about my hearing loss, I don’t hide it. But apparently that’s still too hard for some employers.
Too often, being honest about a disability gets you labelled as “difficult” or “inconvenient”. That’s on them, not me. If work places can’t handle someone who communicates differently, maybe it’s the workplace that needs to change, not the worker.

I cannot imagine how frustrating that would be. We definitely need to do better, just as a whole really. I think people forget that not everyone came onto this earth with the same privileges, and some people have to fight for the most basic fairness.

I’m 65 and have two hearing aids and they look at you like no thanks, but I work harder than most younger people

Maybe you should look into registering for a Disability Employment Service?
They can advocate for you and they have contact with employers who are disability inclusive.
Good luck 🙂

That's got to be so completely annoying to deal with. Especially when you know you can do the work.
