Train Systems Principal
Ageism is undeniably real. Even though I'm highly qualified across multiple technical disciplines and a true SME in several, I haven't landed a single interview in the past two months.
Yet, despite my rock-solid work ethic rooted in genuine integrity, it's crickets. Back in my 40s and 50s, I was constantly headhunted. The NAVY even asked me to return to assist in training.
I have only accepted one offer that truly excited me. Now, 60 last December, not an interview, it's utterly infuriating

Volunteer Sales Assistant
Same here, in my early 50s; last year I got plenty of interviews but I know they made their mind up not to hire me as soon as they saw me. Very discouraging, now I'm taking a break from serious job hunting to focus on building experience in the retail area through my volunteer work.
I also plan to include my age or date of birth on my resume or in cover letter so I'm not wasting everyone's time.
