If you’re applying for jobs, here’s one important part shouldn't skip: the follow up. It makes a good impression and takes minimal effort. Just schedule an email for 1–3 days after the interview, thanking the hiring manager and offering to send any info they might need. 👌
Our follow-up email templates are here: https://www.seek.com.au/career-advice/article/how-to-follow-up-a-job-application
What are your thoughts on follow-up emails: yeah or nah?

Mental Health Support Worker
I have done this, by email, and there was no reply. Companies just don't bother, and it's making me very cranky.

This has honestly made a difference for me in the past. On both sides of the desk. I once sent a followup for a role I was kind of stretching to apply for. And they acknowledged about an hour later that hearing from me and not the other candidate had made their final decision in my favour.

It's honestly pathetic.
Have applied hundreds of places, that too with places which have low application volume, and still no response back, nor any reason given. Something just isn't right here.

I think the idea has marit to it, but employers seem to just ghost me from my experience. I wish we still lived in a time where you could hand in your resume and the employer would call you up. But everything’s online! And so much easier to dismiss and get looked past. I am currently trying hard to find a job that doesn’t immediately see my disability and think - ah, too much work, too hard - and not even get to know me or take the chance. It’s frustrating!

Fashion Designer
Hi I’m a fashion designer with 7+ years’ experience in womenswear and kidswear, from trend forecasting to developing full collections. I’m hoping to find fashion-related opportunities in Australia that offer work visa sponsorship (open to any region).
Has anyone here gone through this process or know of companies in the fashion industry that provide sponsorship? Would love your advice or leads 🙏
