Hey SEEKers! I believe job seekers should be entitled to a free psychologist. Because job searching is a moral/psychological trauma (and I’m not even being sarcastic). The worst part is when you get no response after a really good interview. You just start eating yourself alive from the inside. Good luck to everyone ❤️

This makes me so mad. I do a bunch of prep for an interview and I just think it's super rude and weak that people can't get back to you - even if it's to say no. I make a point of speaking to them even if it means being a total pain.

We think you're onto something Dmitry! There's no doubt how tough the whole process is especially coping with total silence from employers. We really feel like if you've taken the time to interview though, you deserve some proper feedback. We've got some tips to give you the best chance at getting that in Career Advice here: https://www.seek.com.au/career-advice/article/did-i-get-the-job-how-to-ask-for-feedback-after-an-interview. In the meantime, please go easy on yourself and take care. 🙏

Honestly there needs to be more support in general really. Even for the youth, the career advice options seem really different now, they are so cold and structured. Barely a conversation, just "take this print out and go" half the time

Dmitry, growing your resilience is important too. I'm guessing you're young. Maybe look to older people for some advice about resilience and their experience in looking for work. Job searching is hard for everyone. I'm in therapy, but I'm disabled and before my NDIS plan was changed, I paid for my own sessions and got a Medicare rebate afterwards. You can get a mental health care plan from your GP, but you will need to pay for your sessions and then get a rebate afterwards from Medicare.
