I need advice about a team member who is underperforming (cafe staff). Absolutely everyone loves them - the other staff, our customers - but they frequently arrive late, leave early, and mess up orders. I've spoken to them about this, but their work is still sloppy. I’ve also talked about this with the owner and I have their support in whatever I choose to do. I like this person but they're causing me so much stress - what to do??

That's a tough spot but have been there with managing people who are absolutely lovely but that doesn't mean they're great at their job. I've found sitting down and working on a development plan together to address the issues can help because it's not too in their face but also works toward things improving. You can't take on all the stress yourself.
