The employer got my hopes up for nothing or maybe I’m the problem again??? The interview went well but then I got the call. Didn’t get it.... “Stronger candidates.” Same line, different day.
What messes with me is how hopeful I felt. Now I’m replaying everything, wondering what I misunderstood or if I just read kindness as interest again.
How do you stop trusting a good interview when it keeps ending like this?

It's natural to get your hopes up Lisa. The fact you landed the interview and are really hopeful are actually really big positives (even if it doesn't feel like it right now).
Keep trusting that you're doing so much right to be in this position. Something will come through for you soon.

I think some hiring manager lay it on a bit thick with the idea of keeping people intrested. It can give the wrong impression, that they are in with a chance. I try to remember nothing is ever what it seems in half these interviews - do your best, and hope for the best.

Guest Services Agent
I continually applied for jobs (65 in fact) asked for feedback - someone with a better skill set! I’ve heard it all. I found it so demoralising and debilitating both mentally and physically. I know I kept telling myself it’s obviously not the right job for me and something will come along but damn it’s taking some time Each time I looked at an advertised job my anxiety would go through the roof so in the end I just had to step back for a while and not submit applications.
