Why is it that employers won’t hire people who are over 60 I’ve applied for numerous positions for the same job I did for over 40 plus and as soon as I arrive at the interview I can tell that they have already made their minds up about me and whether I can get the job done Yet I see companies that have turned me down re advertising the position when if they had given a’ mature applicant a chance they may have found someone who would have stayed

Discrimination happens way too much. Can affect younger people too. Not many to pick from if it's just the 25-35 window. 🤔

Hey man if they don’t give you the chance to work for them then thats on them i read your comment and the company’s just need to give other people a chance no matter the age just from reason what you wrote your seem like a genuine person who just wants to work for a living

Merchandise Manager
It's so frustrating, asked at an interview when did I expected to retire. Telephoned a few days later to say I didn't get the position because of my age. They are still advertising the position. Other jobs I've applied for, qualified for the position and I haven't even got to an interview stage and it's still being advertised.

I agree with you I’m 65 was attacked at my job now I’m not able to go back to that job I’m supposed to get a job I’ve applied for jobs nothing has changed I still haven’t heard back from quite a jobs I’ve applied for if I can’t get a job I’m going to be homeless won’t be able to pay my rent.

Its just the job market, I am quite young with years of experience. I have applied to hundreds of jobs, I have fixed up my resume numerous times and yet the only way I have been contacted is via my LinkedIn profile.
