Based on my own experience of reviewing 100s of CVs over my career, sharing over some tips when CV writing. Feel free to add your own!
- Spell/ grammar check. Always useful to get a friend or family member to have a read and offer feedback
- Use a template, keep it well organised, easy to read, and consistent in formatting
- Keep the job description / company in mind
- Quality not quantity - keep it to 1 page and focus on a tailored CV for the role you're after, rather than using a generic one

I have a Masters, a postgrad cert, an undergrad degree +22 yrs teaching exp at TAFE and Uni college. I have been applying for a lot of job and dont even get an interview. Recently I discovered that 75% or even more of applications get filtered by an AI program (ATS or Applicant Tracking System) before sending on to a human recruiter. If your resume and cover letter is not ATS friendly, a human will never read it. I have spent the past 3 weeks updating everything to make ATS happy. Will see now.

If we are speaking honestly, are we scrutinized based our ethnicity? No matter how well presented our resume is.

(respectfully) Sticking with your advice on grammar/spell-check: there should not be any space on either side of the solidus ('oblique'/'slash') - as there is in your comment.
