The median Australian wage is apparently almost 2 grand per week. No one in my extended earns anywhere near that amount. What are you all doing to be earning that much?? Is there any realistic way the 'average' person can get close to that income?

Try to get into baseline jobs for the state government - administrative roles. Most of them pay well and you can work your way up. I earn just under that through working my way up. No university degrees, just a girl who applied for an admin job lol

The median is raised due to CEO’s and the top end of the pyramid being on ludicrously high salaries. If they were to calculate a median or average income that excluded CEO’s and the top end it would look far worse, but actually be representative of the rest of the working population.
