Christmas leave: is anyone else's company forcing them to take leave between xmas and New Year? I didn’t realise this was a thing lol. My company shuts down for 5 days and we all have to all take those days out of annual leave. I’d rather save my days for when I actually want a holiday, which is not when airfares are through the roof. Is this even legal?

We’re a Christian nation, we observe Christian traditions. And yes, it’s extremely common for businesses to shutdown over that period and expect staff to use their leave. You could always opt for leave without pay?
