Has anyone else dealt with this? Recruitment agencies often call for an initial chat or even set up interviews, but then I hear nothing back. Even after following up, there’s no update. I get that things move fast in recruitment, but a simple yes/no would help job seekers a lot. Is this just standard practice, or am I having bad luck? How do you handle it?

You're right Stefanie. Following up would benefit everyone involved. Even a simple email to let applicants know the outcome would go a long way in providing closure.
We encourage employers to follow up because it creates a better experience for both sides. When jobseekers get that feedback, even briefly, they’re more likely to apply again in the future. It’s really a win-win. ☺️

It doesn't bother me too much when it's just general jobseeking online, but when a recruiter contacts me directly and lines something up, I expect an end to end experience. It's the least they can do if they have come to me with a role I wasnt actually considering.

True, Facing the same kind a situation where 1st round of interview have been done and they inform me about next round to be happen may be in next week but no call from HR or anyone to schedule an interview.
